About Matilda Jr
Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical Jr. is a joyful, high-energy stage production packed with catchy songs, big characters, and a story about courage, imagination, and standing up for what’s right.
Follow Matilda, a brilliant young girl with a vivid imagination, as she dares to change her own story. Along the way, she faces the larger-than-life Miss Trunchbull, finds a kindred spirit in Miss Honey, and discovers that even the smallest voice can make a big difference.

Why We’re Producing This Show
This production is part of BMT’s commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for young people in our community. It is about giving our students the chance to step beyond the classroom and onto the stage.
Matilda Jr. is an opportunity for our young performers to put into practice the skills they’ve been developing through their training - acting, singing, dancing, and, just as importantly, discipline, teamwork, and resilience. It’s where learning becomes real, and where growth happens in front of an audience.
We are passionate about nurturing emerging talent and creating genuine performance pathways for young people in our community. The performing arts industry can be incredibly difficult to break into, and opportunities to gain real stage experience are invaluable. This production is designed to bridge that gap, offering a supportive, high-quality environment where young performers can build confidence, develop their craft, and experience the demands and rewards of live theatre.
At its heart, this show is about giving young people a platform to be seen, to be heard, and to shine
